I know firsthand the devastation a hurricane can bring. And I know how you do everything to prepare for what you expected and something completely unexpected comes out of it.

My heart goes out to everyone facing Helene's aftermath, as you navigate the challenges of loss and uncertainty. It's a heavy burden, but in these trying times, we can find hope in God's unwavering presence.
The Bible reminds us that God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. His providence may not always be clear in the chaos, but He works through the hands and hearts of His people. As Christians, we are called to be His instruments of love and support, extending a helping hand to our neighbors in need.
Acts 2:44-47 provides a beautiful example of believers supporting each other:
"All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
This passage shows the early Christians sharing their resources and lives, supporting each other in faith and practical needs. This is the church we need to be. The church is a community, not just a religious organization. The church is family, not just a group of people who gather together weekly and know hardly anything about each other.
I've always been a strong believer in the providence of God. Although we are living in a devastating time, right now is the time for believers to exemplify Christ and come together so that we may bear each other's burdens. Use whatever talent or means you have to be supportive of those who are hurting. Be a listening ear, a praying mouth, or working hands for we are all one in the body of Christ.
But in the end, when it's all said and done don't stop there. "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn." (Romans 12:5)
Walk alongside one another through every season of life—celebrating in times of joy and offering comfort and empathy in times of sorrow. Being part of the Christian community means sharing both the blessings and burdens of others.
